I’m a Baby Boomer and a bit creaky with arthritis. Trying to safely stay active and avoid injury was my goal when I started taking Pilates equipment classes. The workouts are gentle on my joints but very targeted and effective. The equipment itself, and most importantly the instruction and feedback for proper positioning, has allowed me to comfortably and safely improve strength, flexibility, posture and balance. I also just plain FEEL better after each class which is incentive enough to keep going!

A few years ago I was diagnosed with Spinal Stenosis, Scoliosis, herniated lumbar discs, and arthritis. I tried the traditional route first, i.e., two rounds of physical therapy that did nothing to alleviate my condition. At that point, I took matters into my own hands, contacted Nadine, and began practicing Pilates specifically the Reformer. At the next appointment with my neurologist he greeted me with the words, “I see you fixed yourself.” Pilates has been a godsend for me, keeping me both strong and mobile. Nadine’s attention to detail ensures my body is in the correct position to perform the move asked of it. I always leave a Pilates session feeling better then when I arrived both mentally and physically. Pilates keeps me 76 years young.

From the discussion of my goals to the implementation of the work to begin attaining those goals, everything was comfortable, challenging and awesome. Nadine is a pro who knows how to help you work on your fitness goals. She worked with my physical therapist to design a sequence that would gradually build strength while still challenging me. I’ve been going every week for almost a year and I have no plans of stopping anytime soon. As I grow stronger, she gets tougher!

My Pilates journey started with a desire to straighten up, release tension in my shoulders, and extend the work that I started in PT to mobilize my spine and strengthen my core. Nadine is tuned in to my particular challenges and goals and for nearly 18 months has been a coach and guide helping me achieve my goals.
