Why Pilates?

With so many options for your fitness routine, why Pilates? Well, in short, Pilates improves your quality of life one session at a time! Let me expand on this a little.

 1. First, Pilates can be your primary fitness source. Done regularly you will experience the benefits of improved posture/body alignment, reduced back pain, a stronger core, stability, agility, increased energy, a better mind-body connection. This holistic approach has so many benefits to help you live your best life. Joseph Pilates quote “In 10 sessions you will FEEL the difference, in 20 sessions you will SEE the difference and in 30 sessions you will have a whole NEW body” Says it all, commit to coming in two or three times a week and see how Pilates can improve your quality of life one session at a time!

 2. Do you ever wonder where you should begin bringing yourself back to your original strength after an injury? Well, Pilates was created to help with rehab, Pilates instructors can work with your medical provider to help create a fitness routine that allows you not only strengthen the injured body part, but Pilates is a whole body approach, so you can make sure your whole body is getting some love and attention. Adding Pilates as part of your wellness can help keep you on a healthy happy track. Pilates is very complimentary when working with a chiropractor, massage therapist, acupuncturist, and many other wellness professionals. Did you know that you can get your Pilates instructor and Physical Therapist to talk so together they can give you the best care to make sure you get back to living your best life pre-injury?

 3. Pilates can improve the quality of your performance and done as part of cross-training for your favorite sport/activity.  Where are my runners? Are you trying to shave some time off your 5k, 10k ½, marathon, or marathon this could give you that edge to a new PR when you are already at the peak of your running strength. Where are my powerlifters? Make sure to give love to those smaller muscles to help keep those muscles and bones stable during your squat or bench press, so you can lift heavier weights with a significantly reduced chance of injury.  Where are my golfers? I know all of you want to make sure you keep the strength or get more power in your long drive. Pilates can help with that! Pilates gives you that mind-body connection so you can move smartly again giving you better posture, better form for your sport, conscious movement enables you to use your muscles with intention to create the best you.
