Private Sessions or Small Group Classes, Which is Right For Me?

We get asked often which service is best when first coming to our studio. It can be hard to determine for yourself if you could jump into a class today, or if you should begin with some one on one sessions. Keep reading to find out which service would be the best fit for you.

Private sessions are a great option for someone who is new to Pilates, recovering from an injury or working towards specific goals. Private sessions allow for our certified Pilates trainers to work one on one with you, these 50 minute sessions are focused entirely on you. If you are brand new to Pilates, these private sessions will help get you comfortable with the apparatus as well as basic Pilates movements and method. If you are injured or coming back from an injury, these one on one sessions are great for determining what building blocks you may need in classes and for working on recovery of movement. If you are working towards specific goals, these one on one sessions will be able to support and tailor movements to help you reach your ideal.

Small group classes are a great option for someone who likes working out with others. Our 50 minute small group classes include use of multiple apparatus; reformer, tower, barrels, chairs and props. These classes are appropriate for beginners with good body awareness who can follow verbal directions. If you have practiced Pilates before, specifically reformer and tower, these classes would be appropriate as we teach and provide options for all levels. If you normally take private sessions but would like to add additional studio hours, these classes would be a great addition to your current practice.

When in doubt, never hesitate to ask! We are here to help support you in your journey to moving better. We will always advise you on the best option to help optimize your training. Here at Dover Pilates, we always keep you and your goals in mind.

Cheers
